Getting on board
Departures, transfers and how booking works
Every Neptune cruise starts and finishes at Labuan Bajo on Flores. Flights come in from Bali, Jakarta and Surabaya to Komodo Airport (LBJ), which is ten minutes from the harbour.
Mainland transfers within Labuan Bajo are included in the fare. What you need to get right is the flight either side — arrive the night before, and do not book a morning departure on your last day.
The sequence
From your flight to the mooring line
01Step one
Arrive the night before
Fly into Komodo Airport and stay in town. Same-day arrivals work when the flight lands early, but a delay costs you the whole first day — and delays into LBJ are ordinary, not exceptional.
02Step two
Transfer and board
We collect you from your Labuan Bajo hotel and bring you to the harbour. Boarding is late morning; lunch is served under way once the boat is clear of the moorings.
03Step three
Into the park
Park fees are settled on the day, in cash, separately from the fare. From there the itinerary takes over — Padar, the dragons, Pink Beach, Manta Point, Taka Makassar.
04Step four
Back alongside
You are back at Labuan Bajo harbour on the final afternoon, with the transfer to your hotel or the airport included. Book flights out for late afternoon or evening.

The park starts an hour from the harbour
Labuan Bajo is the gateway rather than the destination: the first islands are within an hour of the moorings, and the boat is at anchor somewhere quiet before dinner on day one.
That proximity is why liveaboard beats day-tripping here. The viewpoints that matter — Padar at dawn, Manta Point on the morning tide — are best at hours no day boat can reach.

What time do we board?
Late morning at Labuan Bajo harbour. We confirm the exact time with your booking, and collect you from your hotel.
Which flight should I book home?
Late afternoon or evening on the final day. The boat is alongside in the afternoon, and LBJ is ten minutes from the harbour.
Are transfers included?
Mainland transfers within Labuan Bajo are included both ways. Flights are not.
What if my flight is delayed on day one?
Tell us as soon as you know. The boat sails on a tide-driven schedule, so a late arrival may mean joining at a different point — which is another reason to arrive the night before.
